HYDRON™ – A serviceable submersible lighting system for demanding industrial environments

HYDRON™ is a compact, portable and fully serviceable LED lighting system designed for underwater use in industrial environments with demanding temperature conditions, including nuclear power plants. It provides effective lighting in confined underwater spaces where conventional luminaires cannot be installed.

The two-part system consists of a submersible HY15X luminaire unit and a separate HYC15 control unit. The control unit is installed away from the harshest process conditions and supplies power to two luminaire units. The compact luminaire units can be positioned exactly where light is needed. The HY15X luminaire unit must only be used submerged in water.

The HY15X luminaire unit is designed to fit through a 100 mm opening, and its outer housing is made of acid-resistant stainless steel with a limited cobalt content. Full material and manufacturing traceability supports the system’s use in nuclear power plants and other strictly regulated industrial environments.

In line with I-Valo’s Fit for the Future concept, the LED technology in the luminaire unit can be easily replaced when needed without damaging the luminaire body. The serviceable design helps extend the product’s service life and offers a sustainable alternative to disposable lighting solutions. The system can be serviced on site.
