MAKING THE WORLD BRIGHTER
I-Valo since 1971
I-Valo’s luminaire models through the ages
I-Valo’s industrial luminaires have really stood the test of time – we still come across fully functional luminaires installed in the 1970s during renovations. The current users of the building are not always aware of when their decades-old luminaires were made, and we have therefore collected examples on this page of popular discharge lamp luminaires of the past and modern energy efficient LED-luminaires which can replace the old products. Technology has advanced significantly thanks to the development of LED, and it is sensible to upgrade luminaires to modern technology to save on both energy and maintenance cots.

HORIZONTAL VEGA S XENRE
I-Valo’s highbay luminaires have always been designed for particularly demanding industrial applications, where high temperatures and/or impurities in the air (dust, gases) pose challenges to the structure of the luminaires. These luminaires were typically used in steel factories, foundries, workshops, turbine halls of power plants, paper and pulp factories, sawmills and the wood industry and the food and beverage industry. To replace luminaires with traditional technology such as mercury-vapour, sodium-vapour and metal-halide lamps, we now offer the XENRE LED luminaire, which comes in several different varieties. When selecting a suitable replacement luminaire for a building undergoing renovations, one must ensure that the Ta class, light output and filter type match the requirements of the premises.

Lowbay luminaires 70W-150W RETROFIT 6721LED & 6741LED
I-Valo’s 70–150 W lowbay luminaires were popular thanks to their durable structure, and compact discharge lamp luminaires for general lighting of low spaces. Thanks to their small size and versatile range of brackets, they were very suitable for power plants and boilers, for example. These luminaires were typically used on the lower floors of paper and pulp factories and in power plants and boilers, corridors, parking garages, stairwells and maintenance bridges. A typical installation height was 2–8 m. These luminaires, which are still in use in many places, are easy to upgrade to LED technology with a practical LED retrofit package. When selecting a suitable replacement luminaire for a building undergoing renovations, one must ensure that the Ta class, light output and filter type match the requirements of the premises. Hood luminaire HITE 70W HITE LED
I-Valo is known for its industrial lighting for demanding applications, and Hood luminaire is a great example of a product that has been an outstanding solution for very hot conditions. This luminaire was originally equipped with a mercury-vapour lamp, which was replaced by a more energy efficient metal-halide version because of the Energy related Products Directive. Later on, the solution could also be reliably realised with the latest LED technology. This luminaire has been an unmatched solution for example for the lighting of drying cylinders in paper machines. In addition to the luminaire, you always need a control module that must be located in a space with a lower temperature.

EX lowbay luminaires & EX fluorescent luminaires ACQUEX LED
Luminaires with profiled frames, discharge or fluorescent lamps and dust filters intended for zones 21 and 22 were discontinued as traditional technology gave way for LED. These luminaires were suitable as general-purpose luminaires in low industrial premises where dust was present. The luminaire was used for example in bio-boiler plants, closed conveyors, grain processing facilities and facilities for manufacturing of glass fiber boats. Nowadays, I-Valo offers ACQUEX LED luminaires manufactured by Zalux for EX zones.
